| As time past, Knights found themselves in
better positions in life, and they were able to broadened
their charitable horizons past their own needs. These
men reached out with charity in their hearts to serve the
needs of the Church and their community...and beyond.
The concept of an insurance company was a stroke of genius.
By operating their own insurance company, Knights could
easily secure the future of their families, and they could
use the profits their insurance company generated, not to
fill the pockets of investors, but to strengthen the
organization, as well as, finance the charitable efforts of
their organization: The Knights of Columbus.
In 2005 The Knights of Columbus was able to
donate more that $139,000,000 (that is one hundred and
thirty-nine million dollars). In the preceding
10-years they gave more than $1,200,000,000 (that is one
billion, two-hundred thousand dollars). And Knights
personally gave 574 MILLION hours of service.
Be proud of your organization, and honor God
with your charitable works. However, do not forget to
secure your families financial future. Remember, your
Knights of Columbus agent is your brother Knight, honor
bound to work for your best interests.
